Carrie White is a teenage misfit. She’s an outcast who is bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she’s dominated by her loving but cruelly controlling and overprotective mother. What none of them know is that Carrie’s just discovered she’s got a special power, and if pushed too far, she’s not afraid to use it …

Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, this updated and contemporary version of the original Broadway production, Carrie: The Musical is set in modern-day Chamberlain, Maine, USA. It features a book written by Lawrence D. Cohen (screenwriter of the classic film), music by Academy Award winner Michael Gore (Fame, Terms of Endearment), and lyrics by Academy Award winner Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose).

Content warnings: may contain sexual references, adult themes, depictions of bullying, blood, violence and death, use of strobe lighting, haze and smoke. Recommended for ages 16+. This event is supported by the QPAC 40 program, celebrating 40 years of curiosity, inclusion, gathering and stories.
